With the India vs South Africa 1st Test Day 1 ending early on due to rain interrupting the proceedings, Day 2 also started with a delay because of showers.
With the weather prediction turning out to be true for the match on Day 1, the Centurion weather is still indicating that the match will be stopped at least once because of rain.
According to Accuweather reports, there is a more than 50% chances of rain in the afternoon which might see the play being interrupted around 2-4 PM.
The rain could also help the pacers in bringing an edge to their deliveries.
Day 1 Highlights
The Boxing Day Test started off according to South Africa’s plans as the top order fell prey to the pace attack featuring debutant Nandre Burger who managed to take two scalps to his name.
Then came Kagiso Rabada and dominated the proceedings with taking the crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
His 14th 5-wicket haul on the day saw him reach the 500-wicket landmark in International at the age of just 28. It was KL Rahul whose gritty fifty took India to a respectable 208/8 before rain interrupted the play on Day 1 with some overs still left to play.
India’s star batter Virat Kohli also managed to complete another feat as he overtook Rohit Sharma to become the leading run scorer for Team India in World Test Championship history.
Virat would be looking forward to the next innings as he has a chance to get into the Top 2 leading run getters for India vs South Africa. Kohli took over Rahul Dravid in the list and has Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar above him.
