“I think we’re all moved by the emotion of the India-Pakistan game because we have a lot of history. Pakistan have got some really fiery bowlers. I think we got a stronger batting side. I’m definitely looking at Mohammed Amir vs Rohit because he likes to get the ball full and then Shaheen Afridi against Virat. I think these are going to be some big match ups. But at the end of the day, you have to use your mind. You have to play according to the situation and I feel the team which plays according to the situation and keeps the emotion back will definitely win this game,” said Yuvraj in a video released by ICC.
Rohit Sharma vs Mohd Amir Over The Years
Amir has dismissed Rohit three times in their eight international encounters. In ODIs, Rohit averages 43 against Amir with a strike rate of 60.6, but in T20Is, Amir has dominated, dismissing Rohit twice and conceding just one run from seven balls.
Similarly, Shaheen has taken Kohli’s wicket three times in their five meetings. Despite this, Kohli has managed to score well against Shaheen, with an average of 34 and a strike rate of 154.5.
Considering India’s historical struggles against left-arm seamers, both Amir and Afridi will be looking to challenge the Indian batsmen fiercely in the upcoming match. Pakistan, eager for a win after losing their opener against the USA, will be relying on their left-arm pacers to make an impact.
