Kuldeep Yadav Spinning to a Record: left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has etched his name in the record books by becoming the highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup history. With 34 wickets, Kuldeep has overtaken Sri Lanka’s legendary pacer Lasith Malinga, who sits second with 33 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav broke the record after picking up four wickets during the final against Pakistan on Sunday. Kuldeep left them reeling at 134/8. He dismissed Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf.
Malinga took 33 wickets in the Asia Cup. Muttiah Muralitharan, who played only in the ODI Asia Cup, took 30 wickets in the tournament.
Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan follows closely with 30 wickets, while India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has 29 wickets to his name. Bangladesh’s ace spinner Shakib Al Hasan rounds off the top five with 28 wickets.
This milestone highlights Kuldeep’s consistent impact for India in multi-nation tournaments, especially in conditions where spinners often dominate. His achievement adds another chapter to India’s rich bowling legacy in the Asia Cup.
