Rohit’s Bizzare Dismissal: It was perhaps a great shock to both the viewers and the others on the field, as Rohit Sharma went out most unbelievably during the play.
Ajaz Patel bowled the length ball to the off-stump of Rohit. Such a length ball normally demands the batter to play a defensive shot. Nevertheless, in this case, the skidding was a bit straighter than normal, so Rohit got caught off guard.
Rohit, anticipating a regular delivery, stepped out to play a forward defense. This is the most commonly used ploy from batsmen, getting down on their knees to prepare to defend deliveries pitching on or around off-stump, and trying to get the full face of the bat into the stroke to make a positive block.
Unfortunately for Rohit, he made a critical judgment error. The approach did not create much force with the full face of the bat; he hit the inner edge of the bat, which sent the ball flying in an unpredictable direction.
The ball hit the stumps before Rohit could make out what had happened. He was left standing there, head hanging low in shock, slowly making his way off the field.

This wicket was a great bonus for New Zealand and was really going to change the dynamics of the game as India was now gaining momentum in their innings and this wicket was a big blow to India.
