Prithvi Shaw is making a comeback in the squad after 1.5 years gap. Whereas opener Shubman Gill as impressed with his batting ability in the 50-over format. “Shaw will have to wait for his opportunity as Gill has done very well and was already part of the T20 team,” Pandya said.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is out of the series

Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will miss another good opportunity to showcase his talent. The opener is ruled out of the series due to his wrist injury. The 24-year-old has been sent to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation. “He is out of the series with wrist injury,” a BCCI source told PTI.
