New Delhi: Just like any other kid in Ranchi, Ishan was also influenced by the charm of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In an interview, Kishan opened up to say that he “wants to fill his shoes”.
Indian wicket keeper batter Kishan comes from the same place as Dhoni, Ranchi in Jharkhand. The 24-year old player is also on the position as Dhoni in the Indian team ‘wicket keeper batter.’ This inspired the young lad to dream big and do something big in the international cricket.
Ishan Kishan has made a remarkable mark on his career and got his place in the playing 11. After Dhoni retired from the international cricket, there was continuously a fight for the wicket keeper batter’s spot in the team.
Now, Ishan Kishan is focusing on to make his place permanent in the Indian squad.
“My favourite cricket idol growing up was MS Dhoni,. Coming from the same place, I am also playing for Jharkhand. I really wanted to fill his shoes. And now that I am here, I will make sure that I help my team win many games,” Kishan said in vide released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“The one autograph I took was from MS Dhoni when I was 18 years old and finally met him for the first time. I am very proud to have his autograph on my bat,” Kishan added.
Ahead of the first T20 series against New Zealand, the BCCI posted a video on Twitter featuring Ishan Kishan who shared memorable moments of his life.

Ishan Kishan memorable knock
Ishan Kishan came as a replacement in the series against Bangladesh. Making the most of the opportunity, Ishan scripted history by scoring fastest double hundred in Chattogram in Bangladesh.
Ishan, at 24 years and 145 days, scored the fastest double ton till date in ODIs in just 126 balls, also becoming the youngest batter to score a double ODI ton.

Ishan got his maiden Test call
In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Kishan got his maiden Test call. Ishan Kishan will make debut for India in the red ball format against Australia. India and Australia will play four matches Boarder-Gavaskar Trophy Test series from February.
