Indian cricket team star batsman Virat Kohli expressed his joy on social media following the historic series victory of Rohit Sharma and his teammates against England. India sealed a remarkable five-wicket win over England in the fourth Test match in Ranchi, securing an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series. Kohli, who opted out of the Test series due to the arrival of his baby boy Akaay with his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, wasted no time in congratulating the team after the series win. India's dominance at home prevailed despite the challenges posed by England as Rohit Sharma's side clinched a hard-fought victory, marking their 17th consecutive series triumph on home soil, which served as a reality check for England's one-dimensional approach. Starting the final day's play at 40/0 in pursuit of 192, India successfully chased down the target despite facing some tense moments. Skipper Rohit Sharma (55 off 81 balls) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (37 off 44 balls) laid a strong foundation with their 84-run opening partnership. Although there were some nervy moments following their dismissals and quick fall of wickets, Shubman Gill (52 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out) steered the team to victory with an unbeaten 72-run partnership. Left-arm spinner Tom Hartley claimed the crucial wicket of Rohit, while Shoaib Bashir emerged as the most successful English bowler, picking up 3/79 in the second innings, totaling eight wickets in the match. With a 3-1 lead in the series, India now gears up for the final game scheduled in Dharamsala from March 7. The team's last home series defeat dates back to 2012-13, against an Alastair Cook-led England, after which they have won 39 out of 50 Tests played at home.
