The milestone moment came characteristically, with Kohli executing a trademark flick shot for a boundary off Saqib Mahmood in the seventh over. His runs against England are spread across formats: 1,991 runs in 28 Tests, 648 runs in 21 T20Is, and 1,361 runs in 38 ODIs. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as England becomes the third team against whom Kohli has crossed the 4,000-run threshold, following Australia and West Indies. Only Australian legend Ricky Ponting had previously scored 4,000+ runs against three different nations.
