Rohit Sharma and James Anderson had a verbal exchange after a run-out scare during Day 4 of the fourth Test match between India and England in Ranchi. In the 13th over of India’s second innings, Rohit edged a delivery from Anderson, leading to a slight miscommunication with Yashasvi Jaiswal but Rohit managed to complete a quick single. Anderson had some words for Rohit, who responded likewise. However, the incident didn’t escalate further, and both players returned to their positions as play resumed.

“Just as he reached the other end, some words were exchanged between Anderson and Rohit Sharma. Positive it’s not pleasantries. You always try to seize any advantage that you can, get inside the opponent’s skin – be it a batter or a bowler,” Shastri said while commentating.
According to Ravi Shastri, it was more than just friendly banter between the two players, emphasizing that players always seek to gain any advantage available.
At lunch on Day 4, India were at 118 for three in their second innings, with 74 runs needed to win the series. Rohit Sharma scored 55 off 81 balls and had an important partnership of 84 runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 37. Rajat Patidar continued his poor form with a duck, while Shubman Gill (18) and Ravindra Jadeja (3) were at the crease.
