KL Rahul, a prominent figure in India’s batting lineup, has been reportedly ruled out of the third Test against England in Rajkot due to fitness concerns.
While KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were both initially included in the squad for the final three Test matches, their participation was contingent upon receiving clearance from the BCCI medical team. While Jadeja was deemed fit to play, Rahul’s fitness was still in question, prompting the medical team to continue monitoring his condition for another week before making a decision on his availability.

As of now, KL Rahul remains at the National Cricket Academy and has not traveled to Rajkot. The BCCI and the Indian team management are optimistic that Rahul will recover in time for the fourth Test match.
Another Karnataka batsman, Devdutt Padikkal, will replace KL Rahul in the Test squad. Padikkal caught the attention of the selectors during his recent Ranji Trophy match, where he scored 151 runs. This performance coincided with the presence of chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar, who was observing the Karnataka vs Tamil Nadu game from the stands.
