Indian openers – A Major Concern
In the entire tournament, everyone could see that India openers are not upto the mark. They aren’t even close to what a team like India require their at this stage. What’s makes this worse is that they both are in the leadership position. Vice-captain KL Rahul departed in the second over for just 5 runs, while captain Rohit Sharma Sharma followed him back in dressing room for 27 runs.
Tumbling Middle-Order
Virat Kohli has been seen back in form for the past few months but it doesn’t mean that he will win you every match single-handedly. In the very first game against Pakistan, when openers had gone cheaply, Kohli came to rescue. And even today, Kohli played and garnered 50 runs but clearly, they weren’t enough.
Confusion in Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik
In a tournament of this level, India wasn’t sure who is best wicket-keeper for them. They changed the wicket-keeper in the middle of the tournament and none of them could produce results. Dinesh Karthik played for first four games, while Rishabh Pant was called in semi-final. It obviously back-struck on them and none could become a defining player.
Indian bowlers need a strict class
With today’s game against England, it is crystal clear that India really needs to work on their batting. Today, Sharma must have missed Jasprit Bumrah a lot. Each and every bowler failed today and couldn’t take a single wicket. Mohammad Shami, who was brought in as replacement of Bumrah proved to be the costliest bowler as he conceded 39 runs in overs.

A repeat of T20 World Cup 2021
In the previous edition of the tournament, India had come back home from the Super 12 stage itself. India had faced a similar 10-wickets defeat in that edition and it was against their arch-rivals Pakistan. India needed to learn and it looks like they really haven’t much.
