Team India will be playing Test cricket after a six-month break with the two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting September 19, Thursday. It will further open a run of 10 Test matches, but for now, fans get to enjoy some of India’s veteran players who are on the cusp of reaching significant milestones in Test cricket.
Well, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma are on the verge of achieving crucial milestones in their cricketing careers. The Team India Captain Rohit Sharma, in particular, has made an impact with notable Test performances since 2019. Currently, he holds 29 Test centuries and will be the fourth Indian, after legends Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar, to reach the milestone of 30 centuries. He would also equal the iconic Don Bradman’s century count.

Virat Kohli’s Aim To Surpass Sachin Tendulkar With Fastest 27,000 International Runs
He is now eyeing the record for the fastest 27,000 international runs. The current holder Tendulkar had played 623 innings to get to the same landmark which Kohli managed to do in 591 innings while he remains just at 26,942 runs short of it and needs just 58 more.

Ravichandran Ashwin On The Brink To Break Anil Kumble’s Record
Ashwin, who has been India’s premier Test spinner, has etched his place in history as only the second Indian to claim 500 plus Test wickets in a single series. This leaves him three wickets short of Courtney Walsh’s career total of 519 wickets. If he again presents an extraordinary performance where he takes 22 wickets in the two Tests, then he could go a step ahead and equate Anil Kumble’s record for taking the most international wickets taken from the Indian soil.
Ravindra Jadeja Can Become The 3rd Indian With 3000 Runs & 300 Wickets In Tests
Jadeja is very close to joining a very elite group of players, with a possibility of becoming only the third Indian after Kapil Dev and Ashwin, who have accumulated 3,000 runs combined with 300 wickets in Test cricket. He has picked 294 wickets in just 72 Tests at an average of 24.13. As for batting, he has added 3,036 runs at an average of 36.14, which includes four centuries and 20 half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma Just 7 Sixes Away From Breaking Sehwag’s Record
Since he started playing the opener’s role in 2019, Rohit has been one of the best players in the world. Rohit Sharma has hit a total of 84 sixes and is now needs just seven sixes to get into the record book as his master Blaster Virender Sehwag holds the record of 91 sixes in Test cricket. He may do it just in his 60th Test at the Chepauk Stadium. And in case you did not know, he has centuries over centuries missing on his way to becoming the third Indian to reach 50 international tons, having already notched up 48 across formats (12 in Tests, 31 in ODIs, and five in T20Is).
