Star batter Virat Kohli has been doing intense practice in the nets ahead of the 1st Test against Bangladesh, to be played from September 19. He will return to Test cricket after eight months from the last outing – a two-match series against South Africa in January. He missed the following Test series against England with India winning 4-1 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma after his birth, that of his son Akaay.
Virat Kohli: The Backbone Of India’s Batting Lineup
Kohli will have a significant position as India enters an arduous itinerary, with 10 test matches lined up from now till January 2025. The team starts off with a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, following which the three Tests against New Zealand next month.
The tour will feature the five-Test series in Australia from November 2024 through to January 2025. Kohli was said to be putting in earnest hard work by practicing with local net bowlers ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, with assistant coach Abhishek Nayak taking note of each moment.

Team India currently tops the WTC standings with a points percentage of 68.52. Their forthcoming WTC fixtures include two home Tests against Bangladesh, three home Tests against New Zealand, and a five-Test series in Australia.
