A dramatic moment unfolded in the 119th over’s final delivery when Australian captain Pat Cummins sent a yorker towards Mohammed Siraj. As the ball seemingly took an outside edge, Steve Smith claimed a catch at second slip, prompting celebrations from the Australian team. However, uncertainty from the on-field umpires led to a third umpire referral. Upon review, the third umpire quickly determined that the ball had touched the ground after hitting the bottom edge of the bat. Cummins, visibly disappointed with the decision, approached the on-field officials requesting a review, but was informed that it wasn’t an option under the circumstances.
