The India national cricket team led by Rohit Sharma will be very keen on extending its lead in the five-match Test series against Australia. The Indian team registered a brilliant 295-run win in the first match of the series and now will be looking forward on continuing the momentum at the Adelaide Oval. Rohit Sharma and Co almost ticked all the boxes in the first Test played at Optus Stadium and just needs to go with the flow in the second Test as well. The major point that needs to be noted that it will be the Aussies who will be under pressure as they have never won a Test series on the Australian soil after losing the first match since 1969.
Adelaide Oval: Sweet And Bitter Venue For Team India
Adelaide Oval has been a sweet and bitter ground for the India national cricket team in the past four years. Rohit Sharma and Co registered historic win at the venue played in 2018 whereas ended up with a horrific loss in 2021. Team India will look forward on coming out off the previous loss and live in the present. Almost the whole squad received match practice during the pink ball practice match against Prime Minister’s X, however, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was unlucky that he ended up getting out early. Rohit needs more game time against the pink ball and the latter hasn’t scored much runs in the recent Tests he has played so far.

The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series is very important for the Indian team if they wish to qualify for the finals of the World Test Championship. The two-time finalists wishes to make a third consecutive entry in the summit clash of the WTC and ended up lifting the mace this time. The Indian team ended up losing to Australia and New Zealand in the previous two finals of the World Test Championship. Rohit Sharma also gave few statements during the pink-ball practice match. Out of them one was his batting order and is expected to bat in the middle order and not disturb the opening pair Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul.
