New Delhi: On Day 2 of the 1st Test between India and Australia, Todd Murphy became the fourth Australian off-spinner to clinch a five wickets haul on debut. The Victorian player is the youngest spinner to achieve this feat; he is 22 years and 87 days old.

On his maiden Test tour, the debutant got the wickets of KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and KS Bharat. He joined the likes of Pete Taylor, Jason Krejza and teammate Nathan Lyon in the list to take fifer on their debut.

Murphy joins his teammate against India
Todd Murphy has become the third spinner to take a five-wicket haul on his Test debut against team India. Earlier in the year 2000, Naimur Rahman, and 2008, Jason Krejza had done this miracle.
