IND Vs AUS: Steve Smith On Playing In Dubai, As Australia Prepares For Champions Trophy Semi-Final

Australian skipper Steve Smith said relief at getting out of that "tough bubble" in Pakistan and praised the exciting prospect of facing Dubai.

As the India vs Australia Champions Trophy semi-final will be held today (March 4), Australian skipper Steve Smith said relief at getting out of that “tough bubble” in Pakistan and praised the exciting prospect of facing Dubai. Smith also applauded the change of format seeing Australia take on India in a Redo of the 2023 ODI World Cup final, which is something positive for a team. The captain added playing their knockout in Dubai will be a good change as the players were able to get more focus ahead of semi-final.

Smith Reflects On Australia’s Restricted Stay In Pakistan

At the pre-match press conference, the captain of Australia, Steve Smith spoke about the teams experiences in Pakistan and some restrictions they had to follow. He said that the team had been on something of a “bubble” during their time there, no doubt due to the increased security. Playing in that controlled environment was difficult for the boys, almost glad to be heading off to Dubai for the Champions Trophy semi-final.

Smith On Australia’s Refreshing Reset Before Semi-Final

Smith was overjoyed, with the team decision to move before their biggest game of the year against India. He said that the move gave him an opportunity to reset, train, and then return more relaxed. We went a couple miles off in the end. There was a little reset and an opportunity to have two days here in almost as loose a way as going outside of this uber bubble there was in Pakistan the security etc. Smith said “It’s been good to have a couple days chill here do some training.”
