India and Australia are all set to play against each other in the fifth Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The IND vs AUS 5th Test will begin from January 3 as the Indian team will walk into the ground to level the series. The Australian team has displayed a brilliant comeback in the series after losing the first Test in Perth and have put the visitors on the back foot. The Indian batting lineup has been a complete flop leaving performances from few players whereas Jasprit Bumrah has been only carrying the load of the bowling attack whereas other bowlers haven’t found any line and length in the series as of now.

Just ahead of every match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, the Sydney surface has also come into the spotlight. Ahead of the IND vs AUS 5th Test, SCG pitch curator has spoken about the surface. SCG pitch chief curator Adam Lewis opened up about the surface and stated that two days into the match the covers were taken off this morning and 7 mm of grass has also been cut. He said, “So we’re two days out now, getting to the final stages of the prep. We’ve taken the covers off this morning, given a cut 7mm and giving it a nice roll today, nice pressing. Really happy with where it’s at. Giving it a little flick of water, it’s very hot in Sydney today, so we’ll just keep the moisture there just at the top.”
“And then tomorrow, we’ll do a little bit more heavier rolling, take a little bit of the colour out, then we should be ready to go for the third (morning)”, he added in a video tweeted by Sydney Cricket Ground.
The India vs Australia 5th Test will be a new year’s Test where the Australian team will walk into the field wearing pink jerseys and caps. The major reason behind the same isto create awareness against cancer.
