It is already under speculation regarding the coaching management of the Indian cricket team after the not at all promising performance from the Indian side. One of the major concerns is the bowling attack of the Indian side. Other than Jasprit Bumrah, the bowlers are either inexperienced or out of form. This led to raise of a question considering the pitch conditions of Sydney, Mark Waugh in the commentary box. He said
“Why is Harshit Rana not in the playing XI in the Sydney Test? This is a pitch that suits his bowling style”

To this Sanjay Manjrekar who was alongside him in the commentary box replied,
“We have a new team management, a new coach. Under Rahul Dravid what came through was they picked a player and stuck with it even if they had a quiet game or an off day in the field. That would not be held against him.”
“You are right Harshit Rana was brilliant in the first test and then changed in the second. Its been a little capricious, the selection of the playing 11 where Akashdeep comes in. Harshit Rana’s bowing style is suitable for this kind of pitch. This is the approach we have seen with the selection of the playing 11″, he added.
