New Delhi: The third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy lasted for only three days, just like the previous two Test matches. But the result was quite different, this time India was on the receiving end of the game. Australia won the match by 9 wickets and regained some respect.
Holkar Stadium pitch report
During the Test match, the Indore pitch was the talk of the town. The Holkar Stadium’s pitch drew criticism from all over. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was asked about why Test does not last for five days in the post-match presentation.
But the response, Rohit came up with a bold response and he further added that the condition is the same outside India also.
Rohit Sharma’s response
“Matches don’t last five days, even outside India. The game in South Africa got over in three days. In Pakistan, people were saying it’s so boring, so we are making things interesting,” Sharma said in the post-match presentation.
The Indian captain was further asked about the pitch condition of Holkar Stadium. Rohit overturned that question and insisted that talk should be about the heroic innings of Cheteshwar Pujara, Usman Khawaja and the outstanding performance by Nathan Lyon.
“This pitch talk is getting just a bit too much. Every time we play in India, all the focus is on the pitch. Why are people not asking me about Nathan Lyon? How well he bowled? How well Pujara batted in the second inning. How well Usman Khawaja played,” Rohit added.
