New Delhi: After ending the three years century drought in One Day International (ODI), Indian skipper Rohit Sharma stands tall against the Australian bowling attack to score his first Test hundred as captain in the longest format on Friday in Nagpur.
On the second day of 1st Test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit continues his superlative form. Wickets was kept falling from the other side of the crease, and Rohit played lone worrier role.
Ended one-and a-half year wait
It was back in September 2021, that Rohit had scored the Test ton that was against England in the Oval. The wait of one-and a-half year finally came to an end as the Indian opener registered his first three digit.
First Indian Captain to score century in all formats
With this ton, Rohit Sharma has become the first Indian captain to score a hundred in all formats of the game. Rohit now as 1 Test century, 3 ODI century and 2 T20i century. In this he now equaled the records of the likes of Babar Azam, Faf du Plessis and Tilakratne Dilshan are already there in the list. Rohit became the first Indian to join them.

Wickets kept falling quickly
On the second day of the first Test, Rohit find it hard to make partnership. The likes of R Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav all departed without contributing much with the bat as Australian spinner Tod Murphy ran riot.
India, who had restricted Australia for just 177 runs in the first innings, didn’t show as much confidence with the bat as they had with the ball. Barring Rohit’s ton none of the batters really understood the nature of the pitch.
