The final of the Under-19 World Cup 2024 didn’t go in the favour of the Boys in Blue as they were handed a 79-run defeat by the hands of Australia in South Africa.
Despite fast bowler Raj Limbani’s impressive figures of 3 for 38 in the first innings, Australia managed to post a formidable total of 253 for 7 in their 50 overs, marking the highest-ever total in the history of the tournament’s final. Harjas Singh was the standout performer for Australia with a solid knock of 55 runs.

Be it Team India’s long wait for the ICC trophy or the young guns seeking glory, it hasn’t been the best time for Indian cricket in recent times, with the team failing to make it count on the final stage of big events like these.
However, it was nothing short of a solid effort by young Indian contingent who will definitely take back a lot of learnings with them having represented their country at a global stage for the first time in their careers.
