Lyon’s breakthrough performance in 3rd Test
Nathan Lyon achieved this milestone in the ongoing 3rd Test match against India in Indore, after dismissing Ravindra Jadeja. Lyon, who took a fifer on his debut in Sri Lanka, has the most wickets in India when it comes to playing in Asia, with 45 of them. The lowest he has is in Pakistan with 12 scalps. However, the 35-year-old has played only three Tests in Pakistan’s backyard so far.
Lyon wickets in Asia
Lyon, with 129 wickets, now stands above Warne (127), Daniel Vettori (98), Dale Steyn (92), James Anderson (82) and Courtney Walsh (77). Earlier in the day, India won the toss and skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat first against the Aussies.
Nathan Lyon scalped his first wicket by removing Cheteshwar Pujara, and after that, he trapped KS Bharat for LBW.
Australia is 0-2 down in the four-Test series and needs a turnaround to have any hope of drawing the series.
