New Delhi: The 3rd Test match between India and Australia has been changed from Himanchal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) in Dharmashala to Holkar Stadium in Indore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement.
Venue changed due to weather conditions
The 3rd Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy, will be played from March 1 to March 5. The match was originally scheduled to be played at Dharmashala but shifted, due to weather conditions and outfield lacks sufficient grass density.
“The third Test of the Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, originally scheduled to take place at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala from 1st to 5th March has now been moved to Holkar Stadium, Indore,” BCCI said.

”Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully,” BCCI added.

Hosted just one Test match
The HPCA Stadium is one of the most scenic in the cricket world, but has hosted only one Test match till date. Back in 2017, India and Australia played the inaugural Test match at the venue.
India has won the first Test of four matches series, the host defeated the Aussies side by an innings and 132 runs, at VCA Stadium in Nagpur. Ravindra Jadeja has been adjusted as the player of the match award for his all-rounder performance.

The Test match will begins from next Friday in New Delhi.
