New Delhi: India registered vigorous 6-wickets win over Australia in the second Test match at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi. Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first.
Ashwin, jadeja spoils Australia party
Australian team got all out for 263 runs in the 1st innings. Meanwhile, India could not manage to take the lead and got all-out for 262, which leaves Aussies with 1 run-lead.
Australia came to bat for the 2nd innings and took lead of 62 runs. It was quite visible that the visitors came with the intention to make pressure on the hosts. But the pair of spin wizards, Ravichandran and Ravindra Jadeja spoiled the party of Australian champs.

Pujara hits the winning run
Cheteshwar Pujara who was playing his 100 Test match, hit the winning runs. Pujara was unbeaten on 31 alongside KS Bharat who finished at 23 off 22 balls. India required 115 runs to win the match but it lost it’s first wicket as KL Rahul returned early after scoring just 1 run.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Pujara sailed the Indian ship smoothly till they made a terrible mix up and the captain had to return to the pavilion on 31. Pujara remained firm at one end and drove India to a comfortable win.

Spinners riots in the 2nd Test
India started the day with Ashwin who scalped 7 wickets. Ashwin too picked three wickets as Australia were packed for 113 in their second innings after resuming from the overnight score of 61/1.
Ashwin took the important wickets of Travis Head for 43. Then, he removed Steve Smith from the field. After that, he LBW Matt Renshaw for 2 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja then joined the party and cleaned up Marnus Labuschagne for 35. The spinners’ domination continued and Matt Kuhnemann was the final Aussie batter to be dismissed.
India now has taken 2-0 lead in the four match Test series.
