Rohit Sharma Confirms KL Rahul’s Batting Position In IND vs AUS 2nd Test

KL Rahul opened with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the absence of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, however, with his return there were speculations that Rahul might be shifted back to the middle order. Though, the Indian management did the opposite and with the same opening combination in the Adelaide Test as well. Indian captain Rohit Sharma confirmed the news while speaking in the pre-match press conference and stated that Rahul played brilliantly at the top and it is an easy decision for him to not change the position.

He said, “The way KL batted, I was watching from home with the newborn baby in my arms. He played brilliantly, so there is no need to change now; things might be different in the future—the way KL bats in overseas, so he deserves that spot at this point in time. The partnership with KL & Jaiswal probably won us the Test match – I don’t see we needed to change that – it was pretty easy for me, for the team it made sense.”
