IND vs AUS 2nd Test: LBW, No-Ball And Inside Edge; Full Drama In Adelaide As Rohit Sharma Survives Against Mitchell Starc

Indian captain Rohit Sharma survived against Mitchell Starc as he was given out lbw by the umpire, however, in the replay Starc had overstepped and the ball turned out to be a no-ball.

The India national cricket team is playing against Australia in the second Test of the five-match series at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. The Indian team has been pushed on the backfoot by the Aussies on Day 2 wherein Travis Head smashed a brilliant hundred and helped the hosts put up a total of 337 runs in the first innings. Team India had registered a score of 180 runs in its first innings. Australia achieved a lead of 157 runs in the first innings and made the match more interesting. The Indian team lost four wickets for just 86 runs in the second innings wherein top batters such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were sent back to the dressing room.

Rohit Sharma Survives Against Mitchell Starc

Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who going through a rough patch in international cricket was about to get dismissed for a duck off Mitchell Starc. On the third ball of the 18th over, Starc bowled an inswinging delivery to Rohit Sharma. The Indian captain missed the ball completely and was hit on the pads. Starc and Australian team made a huge appeal and the umpire also agreed and gave him out. However, Sharma opted for the DRS straightaway. The third umpire didn’t have to much hard work to make the decision as Starc had already overstepped and it was a no ball. In the replay as well, the ball had taken the inside edge of Rohit’s bat and later went onto hit the pads.

However, despite being favoured by the luck, Rohit Sharma was castled by Pat Cummins for a score of six runs. It was a second consecutive failure for the Indian captain in the match and was dismissed in the first innings in almost the same fashion. The Indian team has already lost five wickets for just 105 runs and now needs a miracle to make a comeback in the match.
