IND vs AFG: As Team India began their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 campaign against an in-form Afghanistan side who deservingly got their spot in the next stage, it was an eventful first inning that saw Team India post 181/7 in Barbados on June 20.

Team IND Manage To Post 181/7 vs AFG
Deciding to bat first, openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli started steadily on what looked like a slow track on a pitch that has seen a few 200+ totals scored this year so far.
Skipper Rohit Sharma failed to make a good score as he was sent back to the pavilion cheaply at just 8 runs on a scorching day in Barbados. Rishabh Pant too couldn’t continue his aggressive batting for long and was dismissed by skipper Rashid Khan on an 11-ball 20 on the day.
Rashid then went on to take out the out-of-form Virat Kohli on a run-a-ball 24 runs followed by Shivam Dube’s wicket too. Kohli continued to struggle in this tournament so far as the team management started to doubt his potential as an opener in the side.
Rashid Khan proved to be pretty influential for the side picking up 3 scalps in his first three overs for Afghanistan.
It was Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya who were left with the responsibility to help steer the side to a competitive total on the day.
Fazalhaq Farooqi also took 3 wickets to his name as he restricted batters from scoring a lot at the death.
While SKY scored a brilliant 28-ball-53, Hardik Pandya also contributed well with 32 runs as Team India posted a respectable 181/7 in their 20 overs.
Keeping Kuldeep Yadav in the eleven might just benefit Team India as there is a turn on the track that will keep the Afghan batters struggling for runs in the chase.
