IND vs AFG: Team India are unbeaten in the ongoing T20 World Cup as they look to break their long ICC trophy draught this year in the West Indies. However, there is a pressing issue that can harm the Men in Blue’s title credentials this summer. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have had a dismal run so far in the tournament in terms of the opening partnership.

Team India Openers Not Delivering As Expected
Despite the first three games being played at a tricky New York pitch, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven’t been able to give Team India the start they need to post strong totals in their required 20 overs.
While Rohit Sharma has a fifty in his bag in the 4 matches played so far, Virat Kohli has not managed to cross the 25-run mark so far in the tournament.
With the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal waiting on the sidelines for a change in the quadrennial event, the pressure will be increasing day by day especially on Virat Kohli to deliver the goods for the Men in Blue.
India hasn’t faced a tough challenger so far but will be facing Australia on 24th June which will pose a real problem for the openers and perfectly test them.
It is the middle order namely Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav among others who are helping the team towards competitive totals so far.
If India were to give a real go at the title, they would want their openers to fire on all cylinders going into the business end of the tournament.
