New Delhi: Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden has given a big statement about Team India’s star wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant. Hayden said that if he was a selector, he would have played Rishabh Pant in every single match, no matter what his form was.
Matthew Hayden statement for Pant
The Australian cricketer said in his statement that ‘If I was a selector, I would have picked Rishabh Pant in every team. He is your future player. They need a lot of support and time. Even if he remains in poor form, he should still get a place in the team. He is a tremendous player in every aspect.’
The tussle between Pant and Karthik
Currently, Team India has two wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. In any match, only one of these two players gets a chance in the playing XI. It has also been seen in the last many matches that when Karthik plays, Pant does not play and when Pant plays then Karthik does not get the chance.
Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik – Only one gets the chance
Dinesh Karthik was given a chance in the first T20 match against Australia in Mohali on Tuesday, while Rishabh Pant was not chosen. Now, the second match is to be held in Nagarpur on 23 September. Team India has reached Nagpur. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether Rishabh Pant gets a chance or not. However, if this happens then Dinesh Karthik can be dropped.
