Ahead of the Champions Trophy tussle between the ICC, BCCI and PCB, the former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has says on X that he completely supports the Pakistan Cricket Board’s decision against the Hybrid Model. He argues that Pakistan cricket team has travelled to India 5 time post 26/11 terror attacks.
A Clown For A Reason
He needs to understand that Pakistan has not done any favor to India, BCCI or the ICC. The only benefitted country from this segment was Pakistan as the viewership of India Pakistan match abroad is only because ‘India’ plays against Pakistan. And as far as the 26/11 is concerned, he needs to take that in mind that the victim of the attacks was India and Indian citizens. Infact, Pakistan has always been the breeding ground for terror. The terrorists came from Pakistan, trained in Pakistan. So the mention of 26/11 attacks is none other than another reason for Pakistan and Shahid Afridi’s mockery. And now when Pakistan is amidst a political unrest and the departure of Sri Lanka A mid tournament has raised many eyebrows

By intertwining politics with sports, the BCCI has placed international cricket in a precarious position. The Hybrid model is the solution for concern of the Indian Government towards its players. The Indian team has some of the most reputed names of cricketing world like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Therefore Pakistan instead of slashing India’s concern for its players, it should focus on its hospitality arrangement, not for terrorism but for their diplomatic ties.
