England’s Brilliant Bowling
Sophie Ecclestone was outstandingly backed by other bowlers. Though great efforts were put forward by Sarah and Kathryn Bryce, from whom valuable contributions of runs came, yet they failed to dislodge the English.

Aggressive Batting By English Openers
Maia Bouchier and Danielle Wyatt-Hodge turned it around with aggressive batting right from the word go. But, though, Maia Bouchier was dropped early and made full use of it. She scored a brisk fifty in just 30 balls. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge reached her half-century in 26 balls and ended the match with just ten overs to spare.
Scotland’s Batting Woes
Bowlers from Scotland find it hard to hold back the strong hitting, allowing runs quickly. England takes forward the momentum in the tournament as this loss was a poor end for Scotland.
Player of the Match: Maia Bouchier
“Batting with Danny is always smooth. We communicated well, focused on hitting straight and running hard between the wickets. We knew we had to finish before the 10th over, and the bowlers did brilliantly. Our focus is on winning the trophy, but we’re thinking only about the next game and how we can keep our calm. For me, it’s staying still and watching the ball closely. And at the same time, I trust myself in my ability to deliver for my country.” said Maia Bouchier.

England’s strong batting has helped push them to the top of Group B regarding their Net Run Rate. Scotland had no cake in this maiden T20 World Cup as they lost all four of their games. Such a disastrous outing shall not be repeated when the group leaves, and they may carry something from this debut.
Now it comes down to India vs. Australia, which is one of the most eagerly awaited matches of this tournament. Watch out for more fun!
