The International Cricket Council (ICC) has called on a board meeting on November 29 and is expected to hold discussions on many issues including the ongoing rift between India and Pakistan regarding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. BCCI have refused to play the tournament which is scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan due to security concerns. The richest cricket board in the world wants to play the tournament under the hybrid model outside Pakistan. On the other hand, PCB are firm on their stance of hosting the tournament in their country itself.
ICC To Take Final Decision On Champions Trophy Venue On November 29
As per report by ESPNcricinfo, the ICC is hoping to get a clear picture on where and how will the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played. The report further adds that the meeting is expected to be virtual and a decision is expected after the ICC board comes to a consensus. The International Cricket Council (ICC) hasn’t released a formal schedule of the tournament, however, for any ICC competition the schedule is released 100 days prior to the event.

International cricket almost stopped in Pakistan after the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team. Any team refused to travel to Pakistan for playing bilateral series until Zimbabwe arrived to play international series in 2015. In the current scenario, things seem to ease in Pakistan as almost every big team has come to tour Pakistan. However, the Indian last travelled to Pakistan back in 2008 to play the Asia Cup but from then has never visited the neighbouring country.
