Star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has lost his position as the top-ranked player in the ICC Men’s T20I Batter’s rankings, a spot he had held since December 2023. Australia’s star opener Travis Head has claimed the number one position after moving up four places following a strong performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Head, the second-highest run scorer of the tournament, has accumulated 255 runs in seven innings, averaging 42.50 with a strike rate of 158.38, including two half-centuries.

Travis Head Takes Over T20I Ranking Top Spot
The 30-year-old delivered an impressive innings of 76 runs off 43 balls against India in Australia’s final Super 8 match. Despite his efforts, Australia fell short, scoring 181/7 in their 20 overs while chasing India’s 205/5.
In contrast, Suryakumar Yadav has been India’s third-highest run scorer in the tournament, amassing 149 runs in six innings at an average of 29.80 and a strike rate of 139.25. The 33-year-old hit crucial half-centuries against the USA (50* off 49) and Afghanistan (53 off 28).
Meanwhile, Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has slipped three places after briefly holding the number one spot with standout performances against Oman (67* off 36, 3/19 in 3 overs) and Scotland (59 off 29). Sri Lanka’s T20I captain Wanindu Hasaranga has reclaimed the top spot after taking six wickets in three innings during the T20 World Cup.
India’s Hardik Pandya has risen to third place in the all-rounder rankings, thanks to his excellent form. Pandya has been crucial for India, taking eight wickets in six innings and scoring 116 runs in four innings at an average of 58 and a strike rate of 145.
In the bowling rankings, England’s wrist-spinner Adil Rashid remains at the top. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan has moved up to second place after taking 14 wickets in seven innings during the tournament.
