New Delhi: Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan retained his top position in the recently released International Cricket Council (ICC) men’s T20I ranking. The leg-break bowler dethroned Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga.
Afghanistan historic victory over Pakistani
The 24-year-old bowler grabbed the first position in the ranking after his sensational performance in the recently concluded Afghanistan versus Pakistan T20I series. Notably, Rashid khan-led team defeated Pakistan in a historic (2-1) series victory and Rashid picked a wicket each in all three matches.

Ranking boost for Afghanistan’s players
On the other hand, Rashid Khan teammate Mujeeb Ur Rehman was also stepped up in his ranking for his bowling against Pakistan from 10th to 8th position. Meanwhile, Afghani pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi‘s five wickets in the series helped him jump 12 places to career–best 3rd spot.
Shadab Khan improves his ranking
Pakistan stand-in skipper Shadab Khan impressed with his performance against Afghanistan and improved his ranking in the latest updated list. He jumped from eight position fourth on the T20I all-rounder rankings
West Indies player ranking
West Indies registered stunning series victory over South Africa. Rovman Powell-led side saw their quick jump in the players ranking. With pacer Alzarri Joseph improving 17 spots to 33rd overall for bowlers and teammate Johnson Charles jumping a whopping 92 places to 17th for batters.
South Africa duo Rilee Rossouw (6th) and Reeza Hendricks (12th) also made good ground on the T20I rankings for batters in what was a high-scoring and entertaining series.
