India’s rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed two positions in the Test batters’ rankings, securing a spot in the top 10 for the very first time. His ascent follows an exceptional performance in the Test series against England.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is the only Indian batsman who is in top 10 ICC rankings of both Test and T20I.

Throughout the series, Jaiswal has displayed remarkable form, amassing a total of 655 runs across four Test matches. His impressive tally matches that of Virat Kohli in a Test series against England, and he stands poised to surpass the legendary batter’s record in the upcoming Dharamsala Test.
Jaiswal’s outstanding run commenced with a bold innings of 80 runs in Hyderabad. His monumental score of 209 in Vizag laid the groundwork for India’s triumph, followed by another double hundred in Rajkot, propelling the hosts into the lead in the series.
This achievement places Jaiswal in esteemed company, as only Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli had previously scored back-to-back double hundreds in Test cricket for India.
Starting from the 29th spot in the Test rankings prior to the Rajkot Test, Jaiswal experienced a significant leap to 15th position following his match-winning double hundred. Subsequently, after the third Test concluded, he ascended three more spots to claim the 12th rank.
Although he did not register a century in the fourth Test in Ranchi, Jaiswal made valuable contributions with scores of 73 and 37. Notably, in every Test of the series thus far, he has managed to score at least one half-century.
Jaiswal’s impressive performance earned him yet another promotion, propelling him up two more spots and securing his entry into the top 10 rankings for Test batters. He now stands as the second Indian to achieve this feat, alongside Virat Kohli, who maintains his position at 8th rank.
