After all the ruckus and rift over the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the International Cricket Council has approved the ‘hybrid model’ to host the tournament. As per a report by India Today, the Champions Trophy 2025 turmoil has ended as the Indian team will now be playing all its matches in Dubai whereas other teams are expected to play in Pakistan itself. In return the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be hosting a women’s tournament for the first time in their history in the year 2027.

Both BCCI and PCB have agreed on a point where the upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup which is set to be held in India and Sri Lanka, Pakistan will not travel to India and will be playing its group matches in Sri Lanka. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) any type of compensation for this arrangement as they have the rights of hosting any women’s tournament after the year 2027. All the ICC board members and stake holders agreed to the point and the decisions have been made by keeping all the challenges in mind.

While the rift regarding the Champions Trophy was going on between India and Pakistan, the Emirates Cricket Board had been closely monitoring the situation as it was believed that the Indian team will be playing its matches in Dubai. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi met Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif and had repeated his statement that he would land up to the agreement after discussing it with the government. With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule yet to be released, it is believed that the tournament will be held from February 19 to March 5.
