The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the highest-ever prize money for the T20 World Cup 2024, with a historic prize pool of USD 11.25 million. This makes the upcoming tournament the most lucrative in the competition’s history. The champions of the 2024 T20 World Cup will receive at least USD 2.45 million, setting a new standard for cricketing rewards. The runners-up will also receive a significant amount, taking home USD 1.28 million. Semi-finalists who do not make it to the final will each get USD 787,500, ensuring their efforts are well-rewarded.

Record Prize Money At T20 World Cup 2024
Teams that exit at the Super 8 stage will earn USD 382,500 each, while those finishing ninth to twelfth will receive USD 247,500 each. Teams ranked thirteenth to twentieth will secure USD 225,000 each. Additionally, every team will earn an extra USD 31,154 for each match they win during the tournament, excluding the semi-finals and final. The 2024 T20 World Cup, featuring 55 matches over 28 days, will be the largest ICC T20 World Cup ever. It will be hosted across nine venues in the West Indies and the USA, highlighting its global significance.
The tournament format includes 40 first-round matches, from which the top eight teams will advance to the Super 8s. The top four teams from the Super 8s will move on to the semi-finals in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. The grand final will take place in Barbados, where the 2024 men’s champions will be crowned.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed his excitement about the event, saying, “This event is historic in so many ways, so it is fitting that the prize money for players reflects that. Hundreds of millions of fans around the world will be entertained by the players in what we’re hoping to be an Out of This World event.”
