‘I Want To Stay’ – Pep Guardiola Expresses Views On Threat Of Being Sacked Amidst Manchester City’s Underwhelming Performance

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his thoughts on the poor performance of the Premier League club ahead of important clash against Liverpool.

Current English Premier League champions Manchester City are undergoing from one of their worst phases at the current time. City have lost six matches on the trot in both EPL and UEFA Champions which has put pressure on team’s head coach Pep Guardiola as well. The Spaniard who was known to be the mastermind behind the club’s success has now come under the radar. Guardiola was under the headlines few days back due to many weird reasons. One of them was his poor statement when he was asked about a scar on his forehead during a post match press-briefing to which he replied that he wants to hurt himself.

Pep Guardiola Opens Up On Threat On Getting Sacked Amidst City’s Poor Performance

While speaking to a news agency, Pep Guardiola admitted the fact that the chair of the club manager is not untouchable but also stated that the immense success he has brought to the team in the past seven years has put him away from getting sacked. He said, “At this football club you have to win and if you don’t win, you will be in trouble. I know the people say: ‘Why is Pep not in trouble, why is Pep not sacked?’ What we have done the last eight years is why I have this margin. What’s for sure is I want to stay. I want to do it. But the moment I feel I am not positive for the club another one will come. It has to be.”

Manchester City’s last win came against Southampton back on October 26. Since then City hasn’t won a single match and have tasted defeats against, Tottenham, Bournemouth, Sporting FC and Brighton in different tournaments. City is currently placed on the third spot in the Premier League points table with only two wins from five games. City trails by eight points with the table toppers Liverpool and a defeat in the Sunday clash with extend the difference to 11 points.
