Indian batter Virat Kohli ended the five-year old drought of scoring a Test hundred in the SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) countries during the IND vs AUS 1st Test. Virat last scored a ton in any of these countries back in 2018 on the same Optus Stadium ground in Perth. Kohli reached the three-figure mark in 143 balls during the IND vs AUS 1st Test 2024-25 and smashed his 30th Test century. Kohli has been one of the real match winners of the Indian team in modern-day cricket wherein he is always known to finish the innings and help the team get over the line.
Virat Kohli reacted after registering a memorable century during the IND vs AUS 1st Test. While speaking to the official broadcasters Virat spoke about his critics and stated that he is a guy who wants to perform for the team and is not at the crease for the sake of his ton. Virat Kohli said, “Yeah, Anushka has been right by my side through thick and thin. So, she knows everything that goes on behind the scenes. What goes on on the head when you don’t play as well or make a few mistakes. I just want to contribute to the team’s cause, I am not a guy who wants to hang around just for the sake of it.”
