‘I Felt The Support…’ Trent Alexander-Arnold Reflects On Mixed Emotions After Real Madrid Bow

Trent Alexander-Arnold has described his Real Madrid debut in the FIFA Club World Cup match against Al-Hilal, here is what he said.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has described his Real Madrid debut as an occasion that is like something most players can only dream about, after expressing disappointment with the result of the opening match of the Club World Cup. Having joined Spanish giants in June, the Liverpool player had played one game in the Real kit, 65 minutes against Flamengo with a player that proved a nuisance to the newcomer Salem Al-Dawsari whose non-stop motion was an issue to the new guy. Despite losing the game, Alexander-Arnold was optimistic after making his debut and he said that he considered it a successful performance.

“Some disappointment to not have won the game. The mentality you need to have as a Real Madrid player is to expect to win every game you’re playing, but a lot of positives, especially in the second half.

“I felt the support from the moment I signed for the club. The fanbase that is truly global all over the world. You feel it every single day. A huge thank you for that. We dominated the stands today, which was incredible.”
