New Delhi: Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, finally managed to get a goalkeeper who could replace the outgoing David De Gea. According to multiple UK media outlets, The Red Devils are closing in on the signing of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana as their number one goalkeeper for a fee of £47 million ($61 million, 55 million euros).
The 27-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper played an important role in Inter’s run to the Champions League final and previously worked under Erik ten Hag at Ajax.
Onana arrives for his medical at Old Trafford
Andre Onana has claimed Manchester United are an ‘irresistible’ team and he can’t wait to work with his former manager Erik ten Hag again. The timing of his medical is still not confirmed, with the United wanting him to join the United States tour as soon as possible.

What Onana says about Man United
“The important thing is to be honest and always tell people the truth. I am a person who always wants new challenges,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Playing in the Premier League and for a club like United is irresistible,” he added.
“All parties wanted this to happen. But what matters is that if I had stayed, I would have been happy because I never had any problems at Inter,” he said.
“Pride and sadness. You don’t know how much I would have loved to bring the trophy [the Champions League] to Milan, celebrate it with our people,” he added.
“We were close to touching it, we deserved it: we played against City head-on, only details were missing, but this is football… Personally, I hope to win the Champions League with United, but I also hope that Inter replay a final and win it,” he continued.
“I will go to a great league and a great club which has a huge history just like that of Inter. I will start from scratch and give everything every day to show the new fans who I am,” he signed off.
This move will reunite him with his former manager at Ajax, under whom he has played 145 times
