In the movie, Po the Panda is the main character who is a ‘Kung Fu’ enthusiast. ‘Kung Fu’ is another name to Wushu which is a full contact sport in the form of martial art including hard and soft techniques. Originated in the Greater China, Kung Fu or Wushu is one of most popular martial arts in the world.

Wushu refers to any study, learning, or practice that requires patience, energy, and time to master it. People around the world learn Wushu and sharpen their skills in the sport which inculcate in them an ultimate level of patience and power. One of those enthusiastic fighters is Pawan Gupta who is an eminent Wushu fighter from India. Pawan Gupta is an international level Wushu player who has achieved numerous medals in several championships and tournaments.

Pawan Gupta is best known for his achievement at 8th edition of Asian Wushu Championships held in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2012 in which he won bronze medal in men’s Sanda 65 kg. Pawan won a silver medal in the Asian Sanda Championships, Singapore and made the country proud again. In the 2015 National Games of India also, which was held in Kerala, India, he won a bronze medal.

Pawan has been predominantly active on international level as a Wushu player. At the 2017 International Wushu Championships, held in Armenia, Pawan participated in the 70 kg men’s category and bagged home a bronze medal. He represented India at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s International Wushu Sanda Tournament in the men’s 75 kg in 2018 where he acquired third place. A year later, Pawan competed in the Batumi Open International Wushu Tournament, in Georgia, where he won a silver medal.

Along with being a renowned Sanda fighter, Pawan also serves the country by his presence in the Indian Air Force of the country. He has been in IAF since 2014, offering his services to the nation. The spirit of sportsmanship him does every possible effort in order to make the country proud and glorious. The Wushu player, Pawan works hard on his fitness everyday with no offs , keeping his firm belief in the saying “ Hard Work Always Pays Off.”
