Now that the spots for the qualifiers have been filled with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeating the Lucknow Super Giants in a nail bitting contest at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow on May 27 by 6 wickets. The ‘Hero’ of the competition and the newly appointed captain, Jitesh Sharma led the team towards victory. Virat Kohli gave a decent start to the RCB but the back to back fall of wickets of Rajat Patidar and Liam Livingstone put RCB in pressure. But Jitesh Sharma’s quick 85 runs innings led the team to victory and froze their spot in the first qualifier. He thanked RCB’s batting coach and mentor Dinesh Karthik.

“DK Anna, He’s my guru. He showed faith in me, he backs me a lot. I want to thank DK Anna. And I want to repay him somehow anyway in cricket, in life or outside cricket”. Jitesh said.
RCB’s Incredible Batting Against LSG
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have advanced to the first qualifier in IPL 2025. Rishabh Pant’s marvelous century helped Lucknow Super Giants score 228 in 20 overs. However, they completed their task with only four wickets falling along the way. It was an all-round team effort from RCB, helped in large part by the top scores of Virat Kohli (54), Mayank Agarwal (41) and Jitesh Sharma (85). Jitesh Sharma, who led in place of Virat Kohli, came in and performed. He began his innings as Royal Challengers Bangalore were losing wickets and managed to keep RCB in the competition by batting well under pressure.
