The ICC website reported that South Africa batting coach described Aiden Markram as the man of the big occasion after the opener guided Proteas to a memorable run chase in the ICC WTC fianl 2025. South Africa who need 282 to win, the day three ended at 213 for two ahead of another day of the game. South Africa require only 69 runs to lift the title and although Australia will not surrender hope of an incredible recovery, the Proteas are very much in the ascendancy as they seek a first ICC title in 27 years.

“We certainly know he is someone for the big occasion, of that there is no doubt,” Ashwell Prince said.
“He has done some technical work, but not a lot. In the last little while, he has had a tendency to push his hands away from his body and cut across the ball, but it was not a big fix, and as soon as he saw a few videos, it was simple.”

SA are 213/2, and they just need 69 runs to chase the target of 282, and lift their first WTC trophy. Earlier in the day Mitchell Starc had battled to a 58 and helped Australia to set a target which was otherwise difficult.
