Jasprit Bumrah out World Cup, BCCI Confirms
Yesterday, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that India bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
“The BCCI Medical team has ruled out Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad. The decision was taken following a detailed assessment and in consultation with the specialists,” read the statement.
Jasprit Bumrah had earlier missed Asia Cup 2022 and the team had to face the burnt of it.
Bumrah had returned to the field after recovering from an injury and played some games against Australia. He had complained of back pain during the practice session. After which he was dropped from the first T20 match at the behest of the medical team.
“Bumrah was initially ruled out from the ongoing 3-match T20I series against South Africa due to a back injury,” it added.
Absence of Jasprit Bumrah and its effects
In the recently concluded Asia Cup, Team India was kicked out early in the tournament and the major reason was weakness in defending totals. Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chair were absent in that tournament as well due to the injury but cricket lovers had hoped that India will perform better with Bumrah in the teams.
