New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) Tilak Varma teammate Dewald Brevis has a special message for the Indian cricketer who made his international debut in the T20I against the West Indies in Trinidad on Thursday. Brevis congratulated the youngster and said Varma had goosebumps on two consecutive humongous sixes in a row.

Tilak Varma impressive debut for India

India lost to the West Indies by four runs in the first T20I, but Varma made a very impressive debut. He was brilliant with bat, and showed amazing fielding skills as he Johnson and Charles back to the pavilion.

While batting, he scored 39 runs off 22 balls, smashing 2 fours and 3 astonishing maximums. After his debut for Men in Blue, he received a special surprise, a message from his ‘brother’ Brevis.

Dewald Brevis million dollar gesture for Tilak Varma

BCCI shared a video of South African cricketer saying: “Hey brother, I’m sure you’re very excited. I don’t know if I’m more excited than you are, but from me and the Brevis family, congratulations on your debut. A wonderful moment for you and your family. I can imagine how happy your parents and everyone else must have been. Great to see you trying to make your dreams come true.”

“The second and third shot gave me goosebumps. Please know that you will always support me and do everything for the rest of the series. I will support you all the way and win every match for India, Cheers,” Brevis added.

Tilak Varma’s reply to Brevis

Tilak admitted he didn’t expect Brevis’ heartfelt gesture. “I thought it might be a coach or family, but it was my brother Dewald Brevis. Thank you so much brother. I will always love you.” I am very pleased with your message. See you soon and thank you,” said Tilak, who has scored 343 runs for MI in the 2023 IPL, up from 397 the previous season.
