Indian batter Virat Kohli broke plenty of records when he completed his 30th Test ton during the IND vs AUS 1st Test being played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Kohli reached the three-figure mark in just 143 balls when the Indian team declared its second innings for a score of 487/6 setting up the Aussies a target of 534 runs. This was Virat’s seventh Test century in Australia when he went past Sachin Tendulkar and became the Indian batter with most tons on the Australian soil. The right-handed Indian batter also broke Sir Donald Bradman’s feat of scoring 29 Test centuries after he completed his 30th Test century.

The whole Indian dressing room went ecstatic after Virat Kohli completed his century and lauded for him. Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir went running down to hug Virat as soon as the right-handed Indian batter completed his ton. The video for the same was shared by the BCCI on their official ‘X’ handle. The past few months have been very tough for GG as the head coach of the Indian team. Team India suffered major setbacks which also put them behind the qualification for the World Test Championship 2024-25 qualification.
Coming back to Team India’s performance on day 3 of the IND vs AUS 1st Test, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal reached a brilliant hundred and didn’t stop to continue the attack even after reaching the three-figure mark. However, soon after his ton, KL Rahul was dismissed by Mitchell Starc after which Jaiswal put up a stand along with Devdutt Padikkal. At lunch, the Indian team didn’t lose any wicket, though, as soon as after the break, the Australian bowlers picked up quick wickets in form of Padikkal, Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel. After the fall of few quick wickets, the Virat Kohli built a strong partnership along with Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy, after which he reached the three-figure. At the end of the day, Australia were three down for 12 runs and still need 522 more runs to win.
