The Indian Cricket Control Board has made a big announcement. They have chosen Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of Team India.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah wrote on Twitter, ‘I am pleased to welcome Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. Cricket has evolved rapidly in modern times, and Gautam Gambhir has closely observed this changing landscape.’

After delivering outstanding performances in various roles, I am fully confident that Gautam is the ideal person to lead Indian cricket forward. Gambhir Set For Team India

Gambhir has been in discussions for this position for a long time. He competed in a race with WV Raman but emerged as the top contender. Recently, in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gambhir served as the mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where KKR became champions. After leaving KKR, Rahul Dravid’s name has been in discussions. Recently, Gautam Gambhir also recorded a video at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which included his farewell message. Many sources claim that Gautam Gambhir has agreed to many conditions set by the BCCI. Now, he is ready to assume the role of head coach of Team India for the Sri Lanka tour.
