After the historic win against Pakistan, Bangladesh emerged as a strong contender after India in Asia. On the other hand, one of the promising side, Pakistan was decimated at their own turf.

So what went wrong for Pakistan? Take a look at some points which might be the reason for Pakistan’s shameful loss against Bangladesh:
Babar Azam’s Lean Patch
Pakistan’s sensational batter, Babar Azam had a rough patch with the bat throughout the series. In a couple of matches, he scored a mere 64 runs at a poor average of just 16. Fans were expecting from their batting star to shine against the visiting Bangladesh side, but Azam failed to deliver that expectation.
Absence of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah
One of the major factor which has come out of the series is that of the absence of Pakistan’s pace-batteries Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah’s absence. Their sheer experience were the missing element during the series. Though both players played the 1st Test but, haven’t had that impact which Pakistan was expecting.
Poor Captaincy
The series also witnessed the poor captaincy by Pakistan’s Shan Masood. His decisions were inaccurate according to the conditions which played a major role in the crushing defeat.

On a pitch where 400+ runs are the average scores, due to the poor batting execution, Pakistani batters failed to utilize the flat pitch of Rawalpindi. The ground of Rawalpindi has a great history for the batters, but the host nation failed to deliver with the bat.
Whats’s Next For Pakistan?
With this series defeat, Pakistan is out of World Test Championship 2023-25. Currently, Pakistan now ranks 8th on the WTC points table.
